The Aurea Davos for Ukraine draws inspiration from the philosophy of Kintsugi – the Japanese art form where gold is used to repair broken pieces, symbolizing the beauty found in embracing life’s flaws and imperfections while creating something precious, resilient and even more beautiful in the process.

It is based on the physical recycled stainless-steel sculpture Aurea – which is first of the series of the impact art movement launched during COP26 and that is currently exhibited at the Inner Temple in London.

“Where there is ruin,
there is hope for a treasure”
Rumi

Deeply moved by the urgent need for action, the artists Roksana Ciurysek-Gedir and Kas Galos mirrored the inspirational Ukrainian flag. Its vibrant blue and gold – weaved in the repair work – stand as a symbol of hope and the longing of a nation to heal, rebuild and unite its people.

It reflects on its surface the “magic mountain” where the annual World Economic Forum Annual Meeting takes place.

The Aurea will be sold as a rare NFT incorporating a unique soundtrack Within (Jacques & Gregory’s Aurea Mix) by Jacques Lavoisier (neuroscientist, DJ, producer and founder of DJs4good) and remixed for the occasion with Gregory Lion, who were inspired by the art piece and the tragic context to provide a virtual space for healing and reflection

The funds generated will go directly to Ukrainian humanitarian relief and cultural preservation efforts.
